Bon Voyage FCL 88

FCL 88The sun shone brightly on Strachur as 30 volunteers gathered to load the latest Raven Trust container with over 1,000 boxes of clothing, bedding, hospital and educational supplies, 35 bicycles and a Belfast sink which has been donated for the laundry room of Jamieson House – the overseas mission visitors accommodation which has been built in Mzuzu.

As always, the catering team were on hand to keep the loaders supplied with food and lots of drinks and they were joined by Mrs McLean, wife of Dr McLean, who brought us much appreciated ice lollies. Dr McLean, with his wife and family, are looking forward to leaving the UK to work at Embangweni Hospital – their belongings having preceded them in an earlier container. We wish them all every blessing in their new life in Malawi.

The container was loaded in less than the 4 hours allowed and was sent off with a prayer for its safe arrival and the wise use of its contents. It should arrive at Ekwendeni in Malawi sometime in October when John will be present to see it unloaded.
