We have recently received the good news that Leslie Matimba, a general clinical officer at Ekwendeni Mission Hospital has been accepted for an 18-month clinical officer in ophthalmology course. We have known Leslie for many years, during which he has taken a strong interest in the work of the eye clinic at Ekwendeni. He applied to take the course at the Malawi College of Health Sciences some years ago, but we understand that until very recently, a lecturer for the course was not available. The Raven Trust has committed to sponsoring the fees and accommodation expenses for his entire course.
