Following their rapid response for a new-born at the weekend (see previous post), today the staff at Embangweni Mission Hospital reported dealing with a one-year old child with suspected cancer of the retina (retinoblastoma). After examination under anaesthetic, the patient was referred to Mzuzu Central Hospital for further management.
It is very gratifying to observe how the staff at Embangweni Eye Clinic, following their training and deepening experience, are increasingly able to deal with a wide range of medical as well as optical conditions.
