In the post we say a big thank-you to Darren and Claire who run Dead Men’s Spex, a specialist supplier of high quality vintage spectacles to theatres and the film industry. They visited recently to have a rummage through our boxes of older specs donated to the Trust over the past year. They found a good selection of what’s in demand from their clients, which they took away, leaving a very-much-appreciated donation to the Trust! They also left two frame heaters to send out to the clinics. We very much appreciate their generous support and friendship, and being able to tap their wide experience of the optometry world.
Just to mention again that while we no longer need ordinary second-hand specs, we still require new and old sunglasses to send to the clinics, and are very keen to receive vintage and quality designer glasses because they are a valuable source of extra funds for our work.
